NEW MISSOURI BILL TO ADD CELL PHONES TO NO-CALL LAW

June 04, 2012

Attorney General Chris Koster announced that a bill passed unanimously by the General Assembly to add cell phones to Missouri's no-call law will benefit millions of Missourians by protecting them from unwanted telemarketer calls. The bill now goes to the Governor.

The addition of cell phones to Missouri's 12 year old no-call law reportedly gives the attorney general the authority to take legal action against businesses that make unwanted sales calls to cell phone numbers.

While although a move in the right direction, the biggest question is why has it taken so long to have some sort of effort to add cell phones to the no-call law in the first place. Many folks in today's cost cutting world cut their land lines long ago in favor of having a cell phone only. At least Missouri is pushing forward to protect Missourians from those unwanted calls. How about your state?
