"This company called my 85 year old mother-in-law. She thought she would be doing my husband a favor in getting a lower interest rate on her card. What a nightmare. They sent her a Capital One card. Then proceeded to tell her to take the card to the bank and withdraw $4500 and send it to them via Fed-ex. Once they received the payment they would start working on lowering her interest. And then what would happen when they decided that we weren't having any trouble paying this card. Would they tell us we were not eligible for their program. Like the reviewer above they are telling us they can't cancel the transaction because we already agreed to it. They do not have a signature on anything. They are supposed to call my husband back today. I'm assuming we are going to get the so called "bully" on the phone. I only wish that I was POA for my mother-in-law instead of my husband. My mother-in-law was not informed of any of this payment information in the beginning. Non-disclosure of information. WOW, I told my husband to get the name of their company. I am going to report them to the Banking Commission. I can't believe these credit card companies allow this kind of company to solicit for them. This is terrible."

"After months of receiving this phone call, I finally decided, out of curiosity, to answer and find out what it was all about. One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made.

The first representative I spoke to, named Randy, led me to believe that they were a card service from Bank of America, and because of new regulations they were obligated to offer me a lower interest rate to get me out of debt faster. Of course there was a "fee", which they told me would be refunded if I was to pay off my credit card early. It sounded to good to be true, yet I continued with there process because I was curious. Well curiosity almost killed this cat.

I then spoke with Bridget who had me answer some yes or no questions, which later they informed me was a contract I signed. I finally said enough is enough, and the nightmare of canceling this "service" began.

I was connected with Travis who was the bully of the group. He was threatening, and led me to believe that I was contractually obligated to pay them $3500. I expressed that never was I told that there was a no cancelation policy, and he argued I was told there was. I asked Travis to replay the recording to confirm his claim. He played it, and Bridget explicitly said, "We do not have a cancellation policy." I told Travis, "If you do not have a cancellation policy, how can you have a no cancellation policy." This is an example of how they try to confuse you. By wordsmithing, they can lead you to believe something, while telling you something else.

After I called Travis out on his lie, he threatened to send me to their collection department. I called his bluff, and I was finally connected with a lady who eventually told me, "No problem honey, we'll undo all your information."

It was so obvious that they were a scam… I knew better.

I decided to report the incident to my bank, and asked them to keep an eye out for any suspicious charges. They said that they'll have my back. I hope I've seen that last of this "Debt Assistance Program"

Lesson learned."
