"A Microsoft tech called again (2-4 calls a day from diff Microsoft techs) said his name was Frank Shaw and said the call was a simple service call and that they had sent out a report saying my computer has been compromised. That somewhere in the Management part of my computer (had a strong non american accent), I told him to give me his name and number and I would call him back when my computer was out of the shop (right!) He gave me 1-800-787-1249 even though it was a local number he was calling me from. They call from different numbers each time."

""Rose William" called with an assertion that she is from Microsoft and there is a virus about to attack my computer. She offered to walk me through taking the virus off. She gave her "employee number" as "MW02" and told me a string of numbers and letters which were apparently my device ID number. She gave a callback number of 1-800-787-1249"

"Call from MW Support “Rose Watson” (wink wink) with thick accent. Told her I didn’t have a computer. She didn’t believe me kept telling me people were trying to hack my computer. I told her it’s very noisy in the background and they must be calling a lot of people. After a little fun with her she got frustrated and handed the call over “Peter Williams” also with a thick accent and the IT Supervisor. Messed with him a bit and told him I didn’t have time right now and asked for their number to call back. He gave me 1-800-787-1249 number. I may just have to call them back and have some more fun with them."

"These people call a ridiculous amount. If you pick up and hang up, they call right back. They call first thing in the morning and through the day. I am pretty good at ignoring them. But tonight, I had just gotten home from work. It's about 10 pm. I am tired. Hungry and the phone rings. I try to call their bluff. But made the mistake of letting them into my laptop, which I never use. After refusing to "pay for protection and cleanup" of my laptop, and insisting that I would rather deal with Microsoft myself, they left my laptop unasable with a login screen my laptop had never ever displayed before..Guess it's finally ready for the e-waste fundraising drive . The caller was Charles Williams, with a thick accent. I laughingly said that he must be a scammer because that surely wasn't his real name..now, I am changing all my passwords to my often used websites and apps. Laugh. Scowl. Cry. Repeat."

The police already arrested the man, in which, he never identified the man. Now he is in our computer and we sent him a overnight check for $299.00 for a 3 year protection plan. Just found out we are SCAMMED -- google let us know."
