"Same as first report by concerned daughter above (today): "Called telling us our grandson was in an accident and was arrested for DUI. Gave us a case # (BM-0228, which we couldn't check out).Needed to wire money to grandsons name but in Harrisburg Pa in the amount of 1990 but they had to do in cash at a walmart it was to be a walmart money rio ( and they could not say it was for bail or her case would go public. They also told us he suffered a minor injury in the accident. The guy who called said he was attorney named Wesley Johnson (public defenders office). We could not get a hold of my grandson. They guy put our grandson on the phone and he told us the reason he was in PA was to see a friend. He was in an accident with other car when other car ran red-light and caused the accident". They had video footage from the intersection proving grandsons innocence and bloodwork from hospital proving blood alcohol less than legal limit. The voice sounded exactly like our grandson (slight Spanish accent) and he called us by the names he has us listed under in his cellphone directory (so we thought legit). Wes Johnson (attorney from "Public Defender") called back later for an additional 1950 saying judge increased bail since woman in other car had miscarraige and our grandson was now being potentially charged with death. We were suckers and sent money same as earlier. Called back once again later in day for an additional 2500 for a lawyer to assist in recovery of additional funds from Dauphin County based on false arrest and imprisonment of grandson. Sounded legit and we both (grandmother & grandfather) spoke to our grandson again. Sounded exactly like him !!!! Wes Johnson gave us the name of the lawyer (Harper J Dimmerman) out of Philadelphia. We finally got in touch with him this evening. As you can surmise, he knew nothing of this and never heard of Wesley Johnson. All calls from Weley Johnson showed a caller ID of Harrisburg, PA. Checking further ID (phone record) showed number as 717-743-1552.
Total for scam (with cash transfer fees) approx $6600. A very larg ouch as we can't afford this."

They also to him she suffered a minor injury in the accident. The guy who called said he was attorney named Wesley Johnson. My parent are both 80 and they could not get a hold of my sister. They guy told them the reason my sister was in PA was to attend a friends funnel and she had a drink afterwards went through a red light and caused the accident"

"Man said he was an attorney regarding my grandson who was in a car accident and failed a breathalyzer test. I asked who he was representing. He asked for my grandson's name. I told him he should be telling me. I hung up. Later I made contact with my grandson and found out this is a scam."
