"A man called me stating that I was ed randomly to be awarded $9,000 from a program called ARRA=american refund and reward association. He gave me a code(sm132) and said I could get my money 1 of 3 ways at Wal-Mart on a visa or MasterCard or direct deposit into my bank accounr, then asked my kid I had any doubts or questions I had. I told him he was full of s--t and hung up. Two minutes later he called me back and asked me why I hung up, again I told him he was full of s--t, called him a liar and hung up again, he still called me back and I didn't answer. Then googled the number and found these comments.TOTAL SCAM MY FRIENDS. wish it were true but TOTAL SCAM"

"I got a call yesterday, stating that I was awarded $9,200 for being randomly ed as a recipientant for this award from the US. Government. I told him immediately that this is a scam. He quickly denied it and said that he was from the U.S. Government and he wanted me to call him officer. He told me to call a (202) number and my code is (SD-140 and they will send the money to me without paying it back. Inside I knew this was wrong, but I went and dialed the number and there was are recording. Please, if you're reading this,do not respond to these guys. God bless you all."

"I got the same pitch but was only offered $700! Where's my other $8300?"

"Received a similar call and knowing it was a scam after he made his pitch I said "great." The guy freaked out and said don't say "great" and told me to hang up. He eventually hung up."

"They said they were from the federal government grants department. They said I was randomly ed for $9200 and I would not have to pay taxes on it. I said sarcastically "that's amazing that the US government is handing out $9200 but it hasn't been publicized on the news or anything." So the man started mocking me on the phone. Total scam..."
